Description
These Bang Bang Chicken Skewers are marinated in a creamy, sweet, and spicy sauce, grilled to perfection, and garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust to your spice preference)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey, sriracha, garlic powder, ginger, and pepper until well combined.
- Add the chicken cubes to the bowl and toss to coat evenly in the marinade.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.
- While the chicken is marinating, soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning on the grill.
- Preheat your grill to medium heat or your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the skewers, leaving a small space between each piece to ensure even cooking.
- Grill the skewers for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through. Or, bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- During the last few minutes of cooking, brush the skewers with extra bang bang sauce.
- Remove the skewers from the grill or oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.
