- 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and dried
- 12 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon shortening or coconut oil
- Optional toppings: Sprinkles, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, sea salt, mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1. Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries.
- 2. Melt the chocolate chips and shortening in a double boiler or microwave. Stir until smooth.
- 3. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, coating about two thirds of the berry.
- 4. Immediately sprinkle with desired toppings, if using.
- 5. Place the dipped strawberries on a parchment lined baking sheet.
- 6. Refrigerate for 15 20 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
- 7. Serve and enjoy!
