A creamy, tangy, and perfectly textured Classic Macaroni Salad that’s a crowd pleaser for all ages.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 2 hard boiled eggs, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and rinse with cold water.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, mustard, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the dressing over the macaroni. Add celery, red onion, pickle relish, and eggs (if using). Mix well.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  5. Before serving, stir well and add a splash of milk if needed. Garnish with paprika or parsley, if desired.
