A creamy, tangy, and perfectly textured Classic Macaroni Salad that’s a crowd pleaser for all ages.

- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
- 2 hard boiled eggs, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and rinse with cold water.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, mustard, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the dressing over the macaroni. Add celery, red onion, pickle relish, and eggs (if using). Mix well.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Before serving, stir well and add a splash of milk if needed. Garnish with paprika or parsley, if desired.
