- 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Burger buns (brioche or sesame seed buns work great)
- Cheddar cheese slices
- Crispy bacon strips
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomato
- Red onion slices
- Your favorite burger sauce (mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, or a special sauce)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion soup mix, bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix gently.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.
- Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium high heat.
- Place the patties on the hot grill or skillet and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium doneness (160°F/71°C).
- During the last minute of cooking, place cheddar cheese slices on top of each patty. Cover to melt the cheese.
- Lightly toast the burger buns. Spread your favorite burger sauce on both halves of the bun.
- Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, red onion, cheesy patty, and crispy bacon.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
