- Carrots: 2 cups, chopped
- Potatoes: 4 cups, cubed
- Bell Peppers: 2, sliced
- Corn: 2 cups, frozen
- Salt: 2 teaspoons
- Black Pepper: 1 teaspoon
- Paprika: 1 tablespoon
- Chili Powder: 2 tablespoons
- Cumin: 1 tablespoon
- Italian Seasoning: 1 tablespoon
- Kidney Beans: 1 (15 ounce) can, drained and rinsed
- Long Grain Rice: 2 cups, uncooked
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Chop vegetables, trim meats, and measure out spices.
- Layer Ingredients: Place tougher vegetables like carrots and potatoes at the bottom of the crockpot. Add meat on top, followed by remaining vegetables.
- Add Sauce: Pour in broth, sauce, or any other liquids called for in the recipe.
- Season: Sprinkle seasonings evenly over the ingredients.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, or until the meat is tender.
- Shred Meat(if needed): If the recipe calls for shredded meat, remove the meat from the crockpot and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded meat to the crockpot to soak.
