A sweet and crunchy snack mix that tastes like strawberry shortcake!
Ingredients

- 9 cups Rice Chex, Corn Chex, or your favorite Chex cereal
- 12 ounces white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup crushed freeze dried strawberries
- 1/4 cup strawberry cake mix (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, measure out your Chex cereal and set aside.
- In a microwave safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat!
- Stir in the vanilla extract into the melted white chocolate mixture.
- Pour the melted white chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal. Gently toss until all the cereal is evenly coated.
- In a large zip top bag, combine the powdered sugar, crushed freeze dried strawberries, and strawberry cake mix (if using).
- Add the coated cereal to the bag and seal tightly. Shake well until all the cereal is evenly coated with the powdered sugar mixture.
- Spread the puppy chow in a single layer on parchment paper to cool completely. This prevents clumping.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
