Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small head of cabbage, finely shredded (about 5 cups)
  • 1/4 cup grated carrot
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, and chopped onion. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, white vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together. Ideally, chilling for 4 hours is best.
  5. Before serving, give the coleslaw another good stir. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Serve chilled and enjoy!
