- 1 ounce lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- ¾ ounce Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)
- Lime wedge, for garnish
- Coarse salt, for rimming the glass (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Glass (Optional): If you want a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass. Spread the coarse salt on a small plate and gently rotate the rim of the glass in the salt until evenly coated.
- Combine Ingredients: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, lime juice, and Cointreau.
- Shake Well: Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds, until the shaker is well chilled.
- Strain and Serve: Strain the margarita into the prepared glass filled with ice.
