This Simple Doritos Taco Salad is a quick and easy meal, perfect for busy weeknights or potlucks. It features seasoned ground beef, crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, cheese, and crunchy Doritos, all tossed with sour cream and salsa.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 large bag Doritos (Nacho Cheese or Cool Ranch)
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup salsa (your favorite kind)
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced (optional)
- 1 avocado, diced (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- In a large bowl, crush about half of the Doritos. You can also leave some whole for extra crunch.
- Add the shredded lettuce to the bowl on top of the crushed Doritos.
- Layer the seasoned ground beef, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, black olives (if using), and green onions (if using) over the lettuce.
- Drizzle sour cream and salsa over the salad.
- Sprinkle the remaining Doritos (crushed or whole) over the top of the salad.
- Serve immediately for the best crunch.
