  • 1 pound ground beefn1 large onion, choppedn2 cups potatoes, peeled and dicedn1 cup carrots, choppedn1 cup celery, choppedn1 cup green beans, choppedn1/2 cup butter, cut into small patsn1 teaspoon garlic powdern1 teaspoon onion powdern1/2 teaspoon saltn1/4 teaspoon black peppern8 sheets of heavy duty aluminum foil (12x12 inch)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium high heat or prepare your campfire for cooking.nLay out 4 sheets of aluminum foil. On each sheet, place half of the chopped onion, potatoes, carrots, celery and green beans.nDivide the pound of ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Place each patty on top of the vegetable mixture on each piece of foil.nSprinkle each patty with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.nDistribute the pats of butter evenly over the patties.nTop each filled foil sheet with another sheet of aluminum foil. Fold the edges together tightly, crinkling to seal and create a well sealed packet.nPlace the foil packets on the preheated grill or in the hot coals of your campfire.nCook for 30-40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the ground beef is cooked through. Make sure to periodically rotate the foil packets for even cooking.nCarefully remove the foil packets from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes before opening, as steam will be present.nOpen the foil packets carefully (watch out for the steam!) and serve immediately.
