Description

Flaky puff pastry filled with a creamy, cheesy, and spicy jalapeño popper mixture. These twists are the perfect appetizer for parties, game day, or anytime you’re craving a flavorful snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • ¼ cup cooked bacon bits (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 package (14.1 ounces) puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Everything bagel seasoning or flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, diced jalapeños, bacon bits (if using), green onion, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix until well combined.
  2. Assemble the Twists: Lay one sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the pastry.
  3. Top with the second sheet of puff pastry. Gently press down to seal the layers together.
  4. Use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut the pastry into approximately 1-inch wide strips.
  5. Twist each strip several times to create a spiral shape.
  6. Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Egg Wash and Season: Brush each twist with the beaten egg. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning or flaky sea salt.
  8. Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the twists are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Cool and Serve: Let the twists cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
